Trey’s Race Weekend: From Fire to Fight to Finish

What a rollercoaster of a weekend for Trey—packed with speed, setbacks, and some truly bold moves that reminded everyone what he's made of.

Friday: Setting the Pace Trey came out swinging on Friday. From the first session, he was consistently among the top three, showing pace, confidence, and control. Everything was pointing toward a strong weekend.

Saturday: Bent but Not Broken Then came Saturday morning—and with it, trouble. A wreck during warm-up left the kart bruised and bent. Even after a round of repairs, Trey and the team realized a spindle and kingpin were still tweaked. But instead of folding, he went out and laid down the fastest time in the next practice session.

Qualifying was solid, but just shy of where Trey wanted to be. The pace was there, but a few tenths kept him off the front rows, putting him 8th on the grid.

Heat 1: Scrappy Salvage The first heat didn’t unfold as hoped. Instead of working forward with the lead group, it turned into a mid-pack shuffle. Still, Trey held his ground and brought it home in 8th—not ideal, but far from over.

Heat 2: Hero Mode Activated Here’s where things got spicy. A tough start dropped Trey to 10th, but the kart felt like it was glued to the track. With laser focus and sharp execution, he clawed his way back to 6th—and then, with just one lap to go, he unleashed a move that will be talked about for a while: jumping from 6th to 1st in two corners. Clean, aggressive, and all class.

Heat 3: Maximum Attack Trey nailed the start, came out of Turn 1 in 5th, and quickly worked his way to 2nd. From there, he and the leader broke away, turning the heat into a two-kart chess match. Trey kept the pressure high and made the move stick—another heat win in the bag.

The Final: All Eyes Forward Lined up P2, Trey had the shot he’d been working toward all weekend. He tucked in behind the leader, pushing hard as the laps ticked by. Then the pack behind reeled them in. Trey made the move for the lead and held it—until things turned chaotic. A contact incident knocked him down to 13th, too far back to recover in the closing laps.

The Bigger Picture The result didn’t show the full story, but this weekend was a breakthrough. Trey proved he’s not just fast—he’s fearless, adaptable, and ready to throw down with the best. From charging through the field to pulling off one of the most daring passes of the weekend, he showed grit and growth in equal measure.

Next race? He’ll be even better.
