Scuderia Estoras driver Trey Arzen put on an incredible show at the Kart Idaho double header at Blue Valor Raceway, delivering a weekend full of speed, resilience, and hard-fought results. Despite having to miss Friday’s practice, Trey jumped straight into race mode and made his presence known across both the 206 and KA100 categories.

Saturday – Pole, Track Record, and a Near Miss
Trey started Saturday on the back foot, having skipped the crucial Friday practice. Still, he quickly found his rhythm in the 206 category. After placing P6 in warm-up, the team got the kart dialed in for qualifying. The result? Pole position and a new track record—a massive achievement and a clear sign the kart was working perfectly.
In the 206 heat, Trey maintained control and drove to victory, setting himself up nicely for the main. Starting from pole, he pushed hard throughout the final, battling fiercely at the front. In a nail-biting finish, Trey crossed the line in P2, just 0.044 seconds off the win.
Over in the KA100 class, Saturday proved to be a tougher challenge. The team worked session by session to dial in the pace, and Trey showed great perseverance. By the end of the day, that effort paid off with another solid P2 finish.

Sunday – Resilience, Recovery, and More Podiums
Sunday brought a new set of challenges with high overnight winds blowing dirt onto the circuit, leaving the track slick and unpredictable. In 206 qualifying, Trey once again found pace and held the fastest time until the final lap, ultimately qualifying P2.
The 206 heat race saw Trey drop to P3 at the start, but he recovered to finish 2nd, nearly taking the lead on the final lap. Starting the main from the front row, Trey lost positions early on but put together a determined drive to climb back to P2 by the checkered flag—another impressive fightback.
In KA100, the day began with pole in qualifying, showing how far the team had come since Saturday. While he couldn’t convert that into a heat win, Trey stayed in the hunt and the main event turned out to be his best KA race of the weekend. Just narrowly missing the setup, he still came home with another strong 2nd-place finish—his third runner-up result of the weekend.

$1,000-to-Win 100cc Throwdown – Heartbreak at the Front
Capping off the event was the highly anticipated 100cc Throwdown, with $1,000 on the line. Trey started P2, nailed the launch, and exited the opening corners in the lead. Knowing he didn’t have the outright pace, he relied on determination and racecraft—mixing it up in an intense three-way fight for the win.
Tragically, with 9 laps to go and while battling for the lead, Trey’s throttle cable snapped, forcing a DNF just as the race reached its climax. Still, it was a statement performance—he showed he had the fight and the pace to contend for the win.
Final Thoughts
Trey leaves Kart Idaho with:
4 P2 finishes across both categories
A new track record in LO206
A front-running performance in the premier 100cc Throwdown
Despite some tough breaks, it was a weekend full of learning, growth, and podium-caliber racing. The team is proud of Trey’s performance and how he continues to push himself—and the kart—right to the edge.
